“Training Children and Youths in Nonviolence
A Must for a Nonkilling and Sustainable Future”
You might concur with the view that a culture of violence and hatred is spreading fast across the world. Apart from political and religious violence we see the incidents of rapes, murders mob lynching, intolerance happening everywhere in the world today. The basic human values of love, affection, brotherhood, cooperation, co-existence, sympathy, compassion, respect for elderly people are vanishing fast at all levels – family, society, nation and the world. Our unrestrained lifestyle has created an unprecedented crisis of sustainability, environmental and ecological degradation. We are all deeply concerned about the decadence of moral and spiritual values in social life.
Most spiritual leaders and thinkers are of the view that the current trend of violence can be arrested only if children and youths are trained in nonviolence. The 10th ICPNA is being organized as a tribute to the pious memory of late HH Acharya Mahapragya who made training people in nonviolence his life’s mission. Perhaps you are aware that his birth centenary is being celebrated this year.
The 10th ICPNA aims at evolving and developing a viable system to train and orient children, youths and even adults in nonviolence. I enclose the detailed conference brochure for your perusal. The plenary sessions include a special session for youths. Those who want to share their visions can submit their proposals to speak in the prescribed form given in the brochure and email the same to slgandhi@hotmail.com. Besides plenaries one can also lead a workshop or participate in panel discussions. The last date for submitting papers is 25th Oct 2019. The last date for registration is 30th Nov, 2019. The registration form is given at the end of the brochure.
