Hiroshima Commemoration Day

Worldwide events commemorating the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

EDINBURGH. Edinburgh CNDs annual commemoration of the dropping of a Nuclear Bomb on Hiroshima will be held from 6pm to 7pm at the east end of Princes Street (outside register house) EH1 3YY. Join us to protest all nuclear weapons. Bring banners, songs, poems, yourself, friends.

KINGSTON. KPC/CND Hiroshima Day commemoration. Assemble 8.30 pm in Canbury Gardens on the Kingston river bank. Please bring white flowers to cast onto the water in remembrance of those who died, and candles to illuminate the path beside the river.

LONDON. Hiroshima Day event in Tavistock Square. 12 noon.

LONDON SW1P 1QW. Pax Christi stall engaging passers-by in anti-nuclear discussion outside Westminster Cathedral. 11 – 5. Pax Christi, 020 8203 4884 info@paxchristi.org.uk

MALDON. Hiroshima Day Candle Service for Peace. 7.30pm. All Saints, Maldon, Essex, CM9 4QE. The service will be taken by the retired Canon Graham Blythe. Followed by refreshments.

SALISBURY. Hiroshima Day Candle Float. 8.45-945pm. Fisherton Bridge. If wet there’ll be a drink and chat at The Kings Head pub with like-minded people!
