On Wednesday May 15th, International Conscientious Objectors’ Day, APF Members were involved in several events.

In Tavistock Square, London, UK, the event included songs, speakers and the laying of white flowers at the memorial.  The tuneful choir was made up of Raised Voices and London Humanist Choir and led by APF Trustee Sue Gilmurray.

In Ledbury, UK, nine people came together in the walled garden beside Ledbury church in order to remember Conscientious Objectors in Britain and across the world. It was coordinated by the Hereford Peace Council. The event was a quiet, reflective ceremony, the first of its kind in Herefordshire.  It followed closely the format used in the event in Tavistock Gardens.  We agreed that we should meet again on May 15th next year, this time in Leominster.
