For many years, APF along with other Christian Peace Organisations held a special service at St. Martin-in-the-Fields and then at the memorial to the Innocent Victims of War at Westminster Abbey. On 28th December 2023 APF hosted an online gathering for prayer. There was a reading from Matthew 2: 1-18. Malcolm Guite introduced and read his sonnet: “Refugee”. Sue Gilmurray contributed three relevant songs. In addition to praying for those affected by the wars in Ukraine, Sudan and the Middle East, we also reflected on some of the wider issues, including an input from Canada about the victims of residential schools and child refugees from so many conflicts.
