Presentation of the Cross of Nails at Southwark Cathedral

On the 26th of January, Southwark Cathedral joined the Community of the Cross of Nails. The Dean of Coventry Cathedral, John Whitmore, presented the Cross to the Bishop of Southwark Cathedral, Christopher Chessum. Among those present were a representative from Rouen Cathedral and partners of the Community of the Cross of Nails, including the APF.

Our representative, Tilly Martin reported, “John Whitmore Dean of Coventry Cathedral preached on the mystery of Christ’s presence in the midst of suffering the hope of the Resurrection even when we look at the world and say ‘It should not be this way.’ It was a wonderful, uplifting and light-filled service.”
